  • Relationships first.

  • Don't interrupt others.
  • Maintain confidentiality .
  • Space: Use space, leave space. Notice room dynamics.
  • Keep focused on our common biblical goal.

Meeting Agenda

Our monthly meetings are a time for community building, training, and equipping to prepare us to act for racial justice in the name of Jesus. Here's the format for a typical meeting:

Welcome

We open with prayer and an opportunity for newcomers to introduce themselves. Then we have a brief time called Gracious Space where we break into small groups for a sharing question. The questions are sometimes serious and sometimes fun and give us an opportunity to learn more about each other.

Devotion

We want our work to be grounded in Scripture, so we take time each meeting to reflect on God's Word as it relates to racial reconciliation.

Business

In this brief segment, we share announcements and updates on projects in process.

Training, Equipping, and Strategy

This part of the meeting is devoted to a specific topic each month. This might include a training session, learning more about a specific topic related to racial justice, or a group discussion of strategy or vision.

After the Meeting – Small Groups

After each meeting, everyone who attended will be assigned to a small group, unless you opt out for the month. Your assignment is to meet one time before the next meeting.  The purpose of the gathering is to get to know one another better and build community; to think together about how to take personal action steps; and to provide some accountability to one another. As we rotate between groups, we may also find other group members with similar interests that we can partner with on our personal action steps. Optional discussion prompts will be provided.
